“Biodiversity Is The Way, So Don't Let Nature Go Astray”
The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 as - The International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. In December 2000, the UN General Assembly adopted 22 May as to commemorate the adoption of the text of the Convention on 22 May 1992 by the Nairobi Final Act of the Conference for the Adoption of the Agreed Text of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity is pleased to announce the Biodiversity Day 2021 slogan: “We’re part of the solution”. The slogan was chosen to be a continuation of the momentum generated last year under the over-arching theme, “Our solutions are in nature”, which served as a reminder that biodiversity remains the answer to several sustainable development challenges.
With a view to generate awareness on biodiversity issues and help people understand the importance of water and biodiversity for sustainable development, Krishnagar Public School organized various virtual programs as a part of the celebration of the International Day for Biological Diversity (IBD) 2021 involving Class 9-10 students made posters against the black-marketing of exotic animals in India and requesting people not to buy by making a small video. Senior students of Classes 11-12 wrote essays for or against the statement “Non-conventional energy is the future currency of the world".
