Diwali 2021
Diwali or Dipawali, is India's biggest and most important festival of the year. The festival gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects them from spiritual darkness. Over the centuries, Diwali has become a national festival that's also enjoyed by non-Hindu communities. For instance, in Jainism, Diwali marks the nirvana or spiritual awakening of Lord Mahavira on October 15, 527 B.C.; in Sikhism it honors the day that Guru Hargobind Ji, the Sixth Sikh Guru, was freed from imprisonment. Buddhists in India celebrate Diwali as well.
We at KPS also celebrated this day with great vigour and enthusiasm. The students participated with great joy and happiness. Children of PG to class 1 have made short videos wishing Diwali and decorated diyas. Students of classes 3 and 4 made posters and videos saying no to fire crackers. Children of classes 5 and 6 had made simple rangoli's and short videos on Green Diwali. Students of classes 7 onwards made a short video on worshipping the Goddess Kali, they also made videos on their favourite dish cooked specially for Diwali. Overall we celebrated the virtual program with great enthusiasm spreading love and affection among all.
