Constitution Day, also known as National Law Day, is observed annually on 26 November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. The Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India on 26 November, 1949, and it came into force on 26 January 1950, which is celebrated in the country as Republic Day.
In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the observance of 26 November as the Constitution Day. The announcement was made as part of the year-long celebration of the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar. The day aims to bring awareness to the importance of the Indian Constitution as well as its main architect, Dr B R Ambedkar.
Krishnagar Public School has also celebrated National Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas to commemorate the adoption of World’s longest written constitution. They participated in different activities to bring awareness to the importance of the Indian Constitution and submitted their activities to respective class teachers.
Activities allotted for different classes were as follows:
Class I: Drawing of Indian Flag.
Class II: Badge making/ Dress up of Dr B. R. Ambedkar.
Class III: Patriotic song.
Class IV: Describe the key words of Preamble of India.
Class V: Dress up of any region of India.
Class VI: Prepare a Poster of Indian Preamble.
Class VII: Write a short note on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as the chairman of the drafting committee of the Indian Constitution.
Class VIII: Write a Short Story (Fiction/ Non-Fiction) on the importance or relevance of the Indian Constitution.
Apart from the above activities, students also participated in reading the Preamble Activity and also attempted the Quiz on Constitution as per Directives.
These activities were considered as the SEA of Social Science for classes VI to VIII.
All these activities helped the students to know about the National Values and Fundamental Principles of our Constitution. They also understood the invaluable rights and duties of citizens as envisioned by our founding fathers.
