"We are what our thoughts have made us; so, take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far” — Swami Vivekananda
National Youth Day or Yuva Diwas is observed every year on January 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda was an Indian philosopher, reformer and a key figure in the introduction of Indian teachings and practices of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world.
To observe this auspicious occasion, students from all grades of Krishnagar Public School performed various activities. The little toddlers from pre primary section dressed like Swami Vivekananda and narrated his quotes and ideas. The students from lower primary section drew a picture of Swamiji and decorated it beautifully with red lentils where as those from the upper primary section paid their homage to Swamiji through performance of asanas, physical exercises and sports.
The students of Secondary section spoke about their ideas and thoughts regarding ‘National Youth Day” and those from higher secondary section made a Power point presentation on ‘How Swami Vivekananda encouraged the youth of our society’.
While doing these activities, the students came across various aspects of Swamiji’s life which has been an inspiration for our Country’s youth for decades.
