November 14 is celebrated as Children’s Day or Bal Diwas every year in India. The special day is celebrated in remembrance of India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, born on November 14, 1889, he is also known as Pandit Nehru. Nehru, who was fondly called Chacha Nehru or simply Chachaji , was very popular amongst children for his love. November 14 marks Nehru’s devotion to welfare, education and development of children and young people.
A day marking childhood, and to make this event a memorable for our little ones, Krishnagar Public School, celebrated Children’s Day on 14 November in the school premises. The children of Nursery to Class 5 came dressed up with colourful clothes and rest were present in school uniform. Classes from Nursery to Class 2 celebrated the day with watching movies along with their Class Teachers. Classes from 3 to 8 enjoyed the day by playing games in their classroom under the guidance of their Class Teacher. Rest classes from 9 to 12 played in the field. The newly formed student council received their badges. The teachers made Children’s Day special for their children by involving them into various games like hit the pyramid, roll the dice, find the ball, musical chair, tug of war etc.
All the children were given snacks, chocolates and pen as a token of love from the school. The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day.
