Buddha Purnima 2023

Buddha Purnima, also known as Vesak or Vaisaki Buddha Purnima is an auspicious day that commemorates three key events in Gautam Buddha’s life: his birth anniversary, enlightment and death. Buddha Purnima is observed on the ‘Purnima’full moon day in the month of Vaisak according to the traditional Hindu calendar. This year the day fell on 5th May,2023 according to the Gregorian Calendar. Krishnagar Public School celebrated Buddha Purnima this year by involving the students from classes VI-VIII, in various activities. Students of Class VI were asked to prepare Buddhist Flags with the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum on them, students of Class VII were asked to draw Buddha’s pictures along with his quotes and students of Class VIII were asked to give one minute speech on Buddha’s teachings. All the students participated in the activities enthusiastically. Buddha Purnima celebration day was marked by encouraging the students to explore the philosophy and teaching of Gautam Buddha so that they can apply those to their life to have a peaceful, prosperous journey ahead
