DL Roy Birthday 2023

Dwijendralal Roy is a prominent figure in the world of Bengali literature. He was born on 19 July 1863 at Krishnanagar in Nadia district. He was a poet, dramatist and music composer. His compositions are known as Dwijendragiti. This year i.e. 2023 we celebrated the 160th birth anniversary of Dwijendralal Roy. His famous songs "Dhandhanya Pushpa Bhara Amer Ae Bashundhara", "Banga Amar! Janani Amar! Dhatri Amar! Amar Desh" etc. are equally popular even today. He composed many plays. His plays fall into four categories: farces, dramas, historical dramas and social dramas. Aryagatha (1st and 2nd part) and Mandra published during his lifetime are famous among his poetic works. Through his literary works, the so-called society is heard in the same way that Mother India is heard. He was famous for writing historical plays. So every year on July 19 this day is specially celebrated in memory of this great writer.

Like previous years this year also i.e. 2023 the students of Krishnanagar Public School celebrated this day specially. It is like worshiping Ganga in Ganga water. The atmosphere of a beautiful event has been created by the literary works created by this great writer, i.e. his poems and songs. Students of different classes participated in the event with the help of some teachers of Krishnanagar Public School. A joint effort of all has been made to make the day auspicious with a beautiful formal meeting. This work has been made possible by the joint efforts of various students from class III to class X. From the beginning to the end of the program, Dwijendragiti, speeches about the great literary man and his poems are spread in all spheres. Following the proper instructions of the teachers, the students were able to present the program beautifully. Through this program students will be able to understand the importance of this day, learn to recognize and know the identity of this special and great man.
