Our Nation celebrates national sports day on 29th August. This day is celebrated to commemorate the birthday of Major Dhan Chand, who was a legendary Indian hockey player. He was born on 29th August 1905 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. This day is observed to encourage school and college students to participate in sports. All schools celebrate sports day in different ways.
Our school celebrated the National Sports Day on the school campus, on two different grounds. Students from different segments participate in the following sports along with their respected class teachers.
Playgroup : Kicking the ball (For both boys and girls)
Nurser : Hitting the cup(For both boys and girls)
K.G : Ladder Race (For both boys and girls)
INTER HOUSE EVENTS
Class 1 : Forward race with ball (For Boys and Girls)
Class 2 : Zig-Zag Race (For Boys and Girls)
Class 3 : Shooting the ball(For Boys and Girls)
Class 4 : Passing the ball [Overhead(For Boys and Girls)]
Class 5 : Relay Race(For Boys and Girls)
Class 6-8 : Football (For Boys) and Throw Ball (For Girls)
Class 9-10 : Football(For Boys) and Throw Ball (For Girls)
Teachers, Administrative members including the respected Director Sir, Trustee ma’am, Principal sir, Vice Principal sir, Head misters ma’am (Primary), Head misters ma’am (Secondary) also took part to make the event successful.
In conclusion sports have the unique power to bring people regardless of their background, language, benefit. National Sports Day showcases this unity, this reminds us that in the world of sports, the only thing that matters is talent and determination.
