OZONE DAY

“Earth without OZONE is like a house without a roof"                                                                                                                                    

In 1994 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 16th September the International Day for the preservation of the Ozone layer.This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought tremendous socio-economic hardships and the Ozone Treaties messages of working together in harmony for the collective effort towards the preservation of the Ozone Layer has become more important than ever.

Students from classes VI to XII of Krishnagar Public School observed Ozone Day and tried to spread awareness against the Ozone layer depletion to the World. The theme of this year ‘Ozone for life ‘is a reminder for us that we need to protect it for future generation. The day was spent with various activities like Poster making, letter writing which included letters to Air Conditioner and Refrigerator manufacturing companies to promote more CFC free products. They also actively participated in the Quiz hosted by VVM, essay writing competition and made short videos on the problems faced due to ozone layer depletion.

Mamtai Sekh of class VI B took the pledge for the nation which was not only for the slogan of the day ‘Ozone for Life ‘but also to encourage us to work together to preserve the Ozone layer required to heal the planet for a brighter and more equitable future for all humanity.
