The International Day of Older Persons is observed on 1st October every year. On 14thDecember 1990 the United Nations General Assembly voted to establish 1st October as the International Day of Older Persons.
The International Day of Older Persons is observed to create awareness and empathy regarding their well being. Usually people observe this day by spending time with their grandparents, visiting old age homes, N.G.O's and preparing special dishes to make them feel happy and loved.
The junior students of our School made greeting cards for their grandparents and shared some photographs of time spent with them. This delivered a message of their concern, love and respect for older persons.
